It’s Thursday, which means that Hasbro has brought to us another Fanstream celebration of the 40th anniversary of Transformers. And while some of today’s reveals got leaked a little early, at least now we can provide you with a clearer look and more details, plus a thing or two that we haven’t already seen here yet.
If you haven’t caught it yet, here’s the video:
But if you prefer something a little more static, then it should come as no shock that yes, we’ve got you covered.
First up, they revealed the best way to celebrate anything: With currency!
Well, maybe not legal tender, strictly speaking, but a coin nonetheless:
This Transformers Coin is embossed on both sides. Limited to only 9,995 worldwide and individually numbered, this coin is 38mm in diameter and supplied within a protective acrylic cup within its display pack. The re-sealable packaging that the Coin comes in is made in the UK from recycled material and is also fully recyclable.
These went on sale on the Hasbro Pulse website for $14.99 USD each with a limit of three per customer, which we’re sure absolutely stopped speculators and scalpers from buying up massive quantities, and that their entire now sold-out stock has gone to legitimate fans.
What’s the difference between a coin and a medallion? We don’t know, but if faction insignias are more your bag, then this set brings you two of them!
Choose your side! Are you an Autobot or a Decepticon? Both medallions depict the iconic logos of each faction. This set of 2 heavily embossed Medallions are supplied with a display stand for each within the presentation box. The set is individually numbered and limited to only 5,000 Worldwide.
This even more limited run is even more expensive, running you $39.99 USD for the pair on Hasbro Pulse. Or at least it would, if their allotment of the 5,000 worldwide wasn’t sold out faster than you can flip a coin/medallion.
Don’t worry, we’re sure to have something here that hasn’t sold out yet… ah! Perfect! I don’t think this is even available to order yet:
Originally released only on vinyl in 2018, they are re-releasing this album containing music from the original Generation One version of the Transformers cartoon. They say it has music from seasons 1 through 3, but considering season 4 was only three episodes long and reused music from the previous seasons, I think we’re allowed to count it. Heck, we might even be able to count season 5 (minus the movie), too!
This album touts the original theme song (always preferred the season 3 version, personally, not counting Lion’s rendition) and 45 minutes’ worth of music from the original composers. What’s more, they were remastered here by one of the original composers, the late, great Rob Walsh and Sony Music. The two-disc album also contains two bonus tracks — an unreleased track and a remix of the theme — totalling 42 overall.
The album will be available in July, with copies available at San Diego Comic-Con.
You can check out a preview of the remixed theme and see artist Matt Ferguson create art for the covers and inserts, starting at 22:10 in the video above, and said remix is available today across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. They say that this is the first time they’ve made official Transformers music available digitally, though it’s a little unclear whether they mean just this one remix, or the whole album. (Hopefully the whole album, because not all of us are equipped to play vinyl.)
Moving right along, it’s Transformers Collaborative‘s latest worst kept secret, Party Wallop, who transforms into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ ’80s version of the Turtle Van (or “Party Wagon,” if you must, even though it was never called that in the show).
The worlds of Transformers robots and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collide with the Transformers x TMNT Party Wallop mash-up pack! The iconic Party Wagon from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon is now a Transformers robot! This 7-inch (17.5 cm) figure converts from robot mode to cartoon-inspired Party Wagon alt mode and features series-accurate deco and details from the classic 1987 cartoon. This pack comes with cartoon-inspired accessories including ninja swords, bo staff, nunchucks, and ninja sai to gear up the turtle brothers. It also includes 4 swappable heads and a rotating belt buckle to customize the robot as either a Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, or Raphael inspired action figure. Transformers robots have always been — More Than Meets the Eye — but now, through the Transformers Collaborative, fans can experience these larger-than-life characters as they team-up, mash-up, and meet up with other characters, teams, and people who share this same special quality.
Includes Transformers figure, 12 accessories, and instructions.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Transformers robots have always been — More Than Meets the Eye — and now fans can experience Transformers characters as they mash-up with iconic characters who share this same quality
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES X TRANSFORMERS COLLABORATIVE: Get the party started with this van that’s the main vehicle for the crime-fighting turtle brothers
CONVERTS FROM VEHICLE TO ROBOT: Party Wallop 7-inch (17.5 cm) figure converts between party wagon mode and robot mode in 20 steps. Inspired by the party wagon as seen in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon
CHOOSE YOUR NINJA TURTLE: Convert to robot mode and attach 1 of 4 different heads to create a Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, or Raphael inspired figure
AWESOME ACCESSORIES: Includes 2 ninja swords, bo staff, 2 nunchucks, 2 ninja sai, rotating belt buckle, and 4 swappable heads that attach in robot mode
That’s right — with this one figure, you can make up to five separate characters! And at $49.99 USD over on Hasbro Pulse (where — surprise — they aren’t sold out), this is where we watch our wallets and bank accounts die, Raphael. Cowabummer!
Incidentally, I think the video has some stills that weren’t featured on Hasbro Pulse, so check it out to see even more of what it’s capable of.
That’s not all from the Collaborative line, though! With Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire heating up theaters, they’re reissuing their first collaboration, Ectotron!
Discover how these worlds collide in this Transformers-Ghostbusters mash-up pack! The iconic Ecto-1 Cadillac from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie is now a Transformers robot — a converting Paranormal Investigator, called Ectotron! This Ectotron figure comes with his own Proton Pack accessory and a Slimer accessory, and converts between Ecto-1 and robot modes in 22 steps.
Includes: Ectotron figure, Slimer figure, 2 accessories, and instructions.
On Hasbro Pulse, the price is $49.99, but it turns out they’re sold out, anyway. It ships around September 1st, anyway, so who knows? You might not even care by then. Or maybe it’s perfectly timed for the Blu-ray release of Frozen Empire, we don’t know. But if you nab one at retail, you can pair it up with Party Wallop so the two teams can meet up for a third time! (Yes, it’s already happened twice.)
Up next is a little old business. Revealed in their 40th anniversary press release was Transformers Generations Comic Edition Shockwave:
Comic book Transformers bots are stepping off the page and onto collectors’ shelves with Transformers Comic Edition Shockwave! Ruled by logic, if it is more logical for Shockwave to override Megatron and seize command of the Decepticons, he will take that chance. This Shockwave figure features comic-accurate deco and details, celebrating 40 years since the first Transformers comics were issued in 1984. The action figure converts from robot to Cybertronian spaceship mode and comes with the head of Optimus Prime piece that can be placed on the included display stand (display stand assembly required).
Includes figure, head of Optimus Prime, display stand, and instructions.
COMIC EDITION SHOCKWAVE: Shockwave is leaping out of the comic panels and into your collection! This 7-inch (17.5 cm) Shockwave action figure is inspired by the original The Transformers comic book series
COMIC-ACCURATE DECO: With comic-accurate deco and black line hatching details, this Transformers figure looks like it came out of a comic book, celebrating 40 years since Transformers robots made their comic debut
CLASSIC ALT MODE: Transformers Shockwave figure converts from robot to Cybertronian spaceship mode in 15 steps
HEAD OF OPTIMUS PRIME: This comic-inspired figure comes with the head of Optimus Prime piece that can be placed on the included display stand (display stand assembly required)
ARTICULATED FOR POSING AND DISPLAY: Transformers figures feature articulated heads, arms, and legs for action poses
GIFT TRANSFORMERS COLLECTIBLES: This Comic Edition Shockwave action figure makes a great collectible figure gift for any Transformers fan
Not only does this comic-colored Shockwave look like he stepped right off the printed page, but his package recreates the iconic “All Are Dead” cover from the fifth issue of Marvel’s 4-issue limited series. (Yes, I know what I said. All of it.)
And for those who view the world through a cruel purple lens, you can optionally give the Optimus Prime head to your kid and tell them that if they’re good, they might get another piece of Optimus Prime the next time a birthday or holiday rolls around! (Hey, why should those of us who grew up with Transformers in the ’80s have all the Optimus-induced mental scarring?)
Anyway, as of this writing, pre-orders are still a go over on Hasbro Pulse for $39.99 USD a pop. Wanting to get one is only logical, after all.
Finally, we come to the Transformers Legacy United Versus Multipack. Yeah, maybe you saw the leaked images that looked like they came from a Target circular that had been stepped on the other day, but now we’ve got all those pics — and more — in high-res, bay-bee!

This 4-pack is exclusive to Target and Hasbro Pul– wait a second… scratch that, Hasbro Pulse‘s stock has flatlined, so it’s basically just a Target exclusive now. HP had it for $79.99 USD, so that’s probably what you can expect to spend on it there.
Finally, there are a few teases for upcoming official announcements (even though some of these have leaked or otherwise gotten out there already):
Coming through the space bridge are Deluxe Concept Art Sunstreaker from the Transformers: Bumblebee movie (“official reveal soon”), Deluxe Studio Series War for Cybertron Sideswipe, Voyager Transformers: Bumblebee Studio Series Shockwave, and last (but not least), Leader class Swoop, presumably of the Studio Series ’86 series.
And that’s everything! Want to talk about it? You can discuss Party Wallop and Ectotron in our Transformers Collaborative thread (Transformers X TMNT – Party Wallop) thread, and the Legacy United 4-pack and Comic Shockwave in the Transformers Legacy toyline threads in our forums. If you poke around, you’ll probably find places to talk about the other stuff, too!
