most of them, I believe, or derived from various mods and Youtube video skits: "What if the protagonist was given more personality?" "What if the protagonist was an Alpha Male/Chad-type?"
The Rule 63/gender-flipped MC was, if I recall, intended as a demonstration of Monika's pan-romanticism (although she technically loves the player, not the protagonist character, she does so regardless of the player's gender).
For all that Dan Salvato wanted to deny the protagonist any true character status, a lot of fans feel differently, even the ones who love to hate him....

Hooray! Someone else remembered this thread, and posted their own art, too! Awesome. What medium did you use? It's got a nice flow to it. I like the harsh black and white, and the simple yet effective distinction b/t the city lights vs stars in the background.

It started as a very rough pencil sketch then scanned and taken digital from there. I always pictured it as a stark b&w, for whatever reason.
I wanted the robot to be recognizably a classic VW bug, but then overall I wanted both robots to be kinda generic/knock off looking.
The original version is, um, undies-less haha which is generally how my work leans. That version is on bluesky and twit, searching "RufusArt" should find me on either.
