Huge win in Florida. After a full trial, the restrictions on providing gender affirming care to trans youth and adults have been found unconstitutional and are now permanently enjoined. Huge win by Simone Chriss and Southern Legal Counsel.

There's the slimmest of chances that he used the term ignorantly, as he isn't a native Italian speaker and he's 89 years old.

Or there's a chance he did it on purpose, because he's a religious fundamentalist and 89 years old.

Either way: why do any of us care?

Edit: Alright, so, thought; he repeated it because he's not a native speaker of italian... and someone (or multiple someones.) in his entourage used it so often that he thought it was the correct word.

That's not better, but it's a plausible reason.

Hard to judge Labour on this issue. Some of the shadow cabinet are seemingly in favour of trans rights (but not vocal about it), but prime minister designate Kier Starmer seems to be TERF-adjacent and is generally a social conservative.
